Best World Cup Goal

Regarded by many as the best world cup goal ever, check out the second one by Esteban Cambiasso. There was 24 passes that put him in the position to score that goal. This sort of thing usually only happens in Japanese anime, not in the World Cup, which is what makes it special.

  1. An awesome goal; the 1970 Carlos Alberto goal still shaves it in my book for sheer casual confidence but the teamwork, awareness, and self-control on display was wonderful to watch.

  2. I won’t say that it is the best World Cup goal ever… that honour goes to Diego Maradona.. the one and only, versus England.
This, however, is probably the best “team” goal ever, matching and exceeding the Brazilian play.

  3. Oh, and on a sidenote, these South American commentators are completely paranoid about football, probably coming up from a radio crowd… Gooooooooool :D

Hehe, I love that shit. It shows just how passionate it actually all is (and insane at the same time). The Egyptians are just as mad :).

Err, scoring a goal using your hand is the best you’ve seen in the world cup ? I think it gets a little better than that, he he. (only joking with ya - england argentina rivalry :) ) I agree with Phu though, that Alberto thunderbolt was amazing…

  9. Someone said something about the South American commentators….

Well Im watching Swiss vs. Togo right now on ESPN in the States….Something happens in the penalty box and this is the conversation between the two commentators.

Guy 1: Oh my god what a horrible mistake by the referee there, definetly a penalty.

Guy 2: Wow! No penalty kick awarded by the ref….He didnt even give them a foul shot…..

    No Joke. Enough Said…

  11. Certainly the best team performance in the World Cup that I can remeber. S+M topped their qualifying group above Spain, they are no mugs, but Argentina ripped them apart. They had the 24 pass goal and a 21 pass goal also. Simply awesome…..

Not the best game but the best team performance for sheer technical quality alone.

  12. Im from argentina but I hate Maradona. The best goal is Maradona`s 2ºvs England in Mexico 86. Also in this world cup there was a great goal: the second of Argentina vs Serbia and Montenegro(Cambiasso)

  20. Yeah, everything fixed for Germany to pass. That is why Argentina can’t get to finals. I can’t believe Argentina is not in the World Cup anymore, but i am glad it has been chosen as the best team in the World Cup of this year so far.

And Maradona’s goal vs. England, was the best goal ever. No doubt about it.

Argentina and Brazil have quality, they don’t “kick a ball”, they dance with the ball, the ball becomes a part of the player, and the game becomes an art. (actually, this year Brazil sucked. but hey, Brazil has always been the favourite)

  24. To win the WORLD CUP is not to be the best team… a perfect example of this is Italy, this year… really, if that is the best team, then we are lost!
