Oh my dear god, why didn't anyone tell me the colours on the site looked soo drab? I've been looking at the site (and the redesign) was done on my mum's computer which was one of those ultra glossy screened things from HP. Problem is the colours that I see on my screen in London are definitely not the colours that I was seeing in Athens and definitely not the ones that will continue to be used on the site.

Be back in a little while sort this mess out and talk a little bit more about Habari and what would be cool to have.

    1. Yeah, unfortunately I've had that problem as well, since my 24" iMac displays colours with much more contrast than other screens. Wish we all had superior screens. :P

Anyway, on the redesign, I thinking about switching to Habari, but one thing that's keeping me is that I know WordPress from the inside out, and back again. One thing that's keeping me in particular is that I haven't figured out yet how to visually create a difference between short posts or links, and larger articles. Using WP I would have used categories for that. Would you mind sharing how you've accomplished that over here?

BTW, while I was typing this comment I keep getting a grid view popping up and dissappearing again. It's actually kind of funny, although I have no idea what's triggering it. :P

    2. Hey Simon, yeah no, I will say that if you're looking for jumping into Habari, then by all means definitely do. I will be doing a whole posts about this, because as I can't actually code myself out of a paper bag, loads of people within the Habari community can.

The biggest help is the livehelp function plugin from within the admin, which basically links you up to the IRC channel, where all the guys will more than willingly help you out...which is what they did to sort out the asides.

Again, if you jump into this, I will be more than willing to share all the code as really I did little of the writing as I've just modified existing code from another theme, hacked it to pieces and gotten loads of help from the channel.

As for the grid, that's from http://gridlayouts.com which allows you to have a grid that shows up when you type in ctrl and shift and F or something like that, for some reason you're right is also coming up here, I should get rid of those links, although it's definitely been a great tool for making sure everything aligns properly.
